Privacy policy.
Last updated: May 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how FanRoars, operated by Varskite LLC (“FanRoars,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit fanroars.com (the “Site”), join our waitlist, or use the FanRoars mobile application (the “App,” and together with the Site, the “Services”).
By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who we are
FanRoars is a real-time fan-engagement experience built for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. By shaking your device, tapping the screen, and cheering into your microphone, you contribute to your team’s live “momentum” during matches. Varskite LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, is the data controller responsible for your personal information. Questions? Email hello@varskite.com.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Waitlist & account details: your email address when you join the waitlist, and your name, username, password, and team preferences if you create an account.
- Communications: information you provide when you contact support, respond to surveys, or otherwise communicate with us.
2.2 Device sensor data (App)
- Microphone / audio: with your permission, the App accesses your microphone to measure the volume and intensity of your cheering in order to calculate momentum in real time. We do not record, store, transcribe, or transmit the content of your audio, and we do not use it to identify you.
- Motion sensors: we read your accelerometer and gyroscope to detect shakes and movement that contribute to momentum.
- Tap & interaction data: screen taps and in-app actions used to calculate your contribution.
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Device & usage data: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, language settings, and how you interact with the Services.
- Approximate location: derived from your IP address or (with permission) device location, used to associate you with the correct match, team, or region.
- Cookies & similar technologies: on the Site, used for essential functionality and, where enabled, analytics. See Section 8.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Services;
- calculate and display live momentum, leaderboards, and match statistics;
- create and manage your account and the waitlist;
- send you transactional messages, launch updates, and (where permitted) marketing communications;
- analyze usage to improve performance, develop new features, and ensure security;
- detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Services), consent (e.g., microphone access, location, and marketing — which you may withdraw at any time), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Services), and legal obligation (to comply with applicable law).
5. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g., cloud hosting, database and caching infrastructure, email delivery, and analytics), bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations;
- Event partners and teams in aggregated or anonymized form (e.g., total crowd momentum), which does not identify you personally;
- Legal & safety recipients where required to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, property, and safety; and
- Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Real-time audio sound levels are processed transiently and are not retained. Aggregated or anonymized data may be kept indefinitely.
7. Security
We use technical and organizational measures — such as encryption in transit, access controls, and secure infrastructure — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Cookies & analytics
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary for it to function, and may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. EEA/UK residents may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” (we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are commonly understood). To exercise any right, email hello@varskite.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10. Children’s privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
11. International data transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, as required by applicable law.
12. Managing permissions
You can enable or disable microphone, motion, location, and notification permissions at any time through your device or browser settings. Disabling the microphone or motion sensors will limit core App features such as cheer and shake detection.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
